Each group of 3rd and 4th graders gets 20 pieces of spaghetti. 1 marshmallow and masking tape. They have to build the tallest structure they can. What an incredible trip! We went to the back of Nickerson State Park. We walked through on a magical soft pine needled path to Higgin's Pond. It is actually like a double pond - one big, open and fun to swim in, and one part marshy and shallow and full of life. The children explored, found many friendly little frogs, even made some frog islands for them. They sketched and recorded their observations. In between quiet exploration and observation, was chatting, giggling, and just plain having fun!
