Miss Chelsea's and Ms. Karin's classes had fun at Nauset today. Great physical education, science and fun. Our class took ocean water samples with the help of the older students. Then back to school to test which water will freeze first and which will evaporate first- tap, salt or pond water. Investigating Water from Cape Cod Bay
What do you see in the water? Does the water look the same as the pond water? It's more stinky. There are pieces of seaweed and little crab bones. No sticks like in the pond. If we put the crabs in the garden, it will make it grow better – secret plant food. Let's look inside the shell with the magnifying glass. It floats! How about we take the legs off him? Mine has purple knees. Mine has yellow knees. Your legs glow in the water. Last week we went to Flax Pond in Nickerson State. The children hiked, observed and collected water samples. Today we went to the Brewster Bay. We compared, observed, chased minnows and took water samples. |
